The Ultimizer Lateral Scanners consist of three major components:

1.    Multiple color cameras mounted over the lumber to be scanned (typically six cameras for 16ft long boards).

2.    A high-capacity computer to process the scanned images.

3.    Software to optimize the best rip yields based on customer input and needs.

Cameras scan the board for width, taper and crook. Ultimizers' proven Ulti-Vision™ software uses this information to produce a color image showing defects and then calculates real-time solutions. This results in high yields at the ripsaws.

Optional software can be used to find wane and major defects for even greater yields.

The Ultimizer Lateral Scanner uses computer technologies to find the best ripping solutions for every board.

For:

·         Fixed Blade rip saws

·         Moveable Blade rip saws

·         Double Arbor rip saws

Ultimizers' proven Ulti-Vision™ software produces rip solutions considering the cutoff solutions at the same time.

A color image showing actual defects and real-time solutions allows operators to see what sizes are being cut and that yields are as high as possible. Operator defect modifications can be made in some cases.

AN INTEGRATED WORK CELL:

An integrated "work cell" can include cutoff saws directly following the ripsaws.

One person can rip and crosscut using Ultivision™ technologies. After loading two or three wide boards for ripping, the operator can turn around and pull waste and edging strips after the rip saw, allowing the good rips to proceed directly to the automatic feed-in to the Ulti-Vision™ scanner and cut-off saw.
